Romania is one of the largest producers of oil and gas in Central Europe. It has an extensive infrastructure, low competition on the market and an attractive location on the continent. According to the data provided by “The World Factbook”, production of oil in Romania in 2012 was 101,600 barrels per day (51 position in the world) and its resources in 2012 were 600 million barrels (47 position in the world). Production and resources of gas are, respectively, 10,63 billion cubic metres (2012, 41 position in the world) and 105,5 billion cubic metres (2012, 53 position).
